But honestly, I don't get it. I'm not trying to be mean or heartless. But, what does this mean for other drivers? I don't do anything different than I would do next to a car full of elderly people. If I put a sign on my car that says "geriatric on board" is that going to change your driving habits? Probably not. The only thing I can come up with is that parents are proud of having a baby, so they want the world to know? That's fine, just don't expect me to drive 5 mph behind you or change any of my driving skills.

Ha!
I have thought the same thing, but what that sign is actually saying is: don't pay me any mind as you watch me drive off the road trying to locate a pacifier on the floor behind me.
It's all about "Extend me mercy please."
Once I spent the entire day baking and frosting a 4 layer chocolate cake and then drove 4 miles per hour trying to keep it from slipping off the back seat... "Mercy please!" Whenever I see someone driving sooooo slow, I think, "Oh you probably have a chocolate cake on your back seat."Lots of us are driving through life, figuratively, with a "chocolate cake on our back seat." Sorry, but this might take me awhile...mercy please. HA
Agree to disagree.
People can make choices to avoid that type of situation. Just because someone puts a sign in their window does not give them the right to make the rest of the world un-safe so they can keep a dessert from falling over. Get someone to hold it for you and Pull over to find your pacifier.
