Maine

Saturday night, Jake decided to head to Maine to visit Alexis and Ian. At the last second I was able to get the time off and I went with him. :) It was an awesome trip. We had lots of time to play with little Jake and Benjamin. I'm so amazed with Jake's sister Alexis, She is such a patient loving Mom. I'm not sure how she does it,but I'm impressed. We took a few field trips with the kids to see a couple lighthouses and the outlets. On our way out of town, JFK put a ground hold on and we didn't leave on time. We ended up missing our connecting flight by a few minutes. So, we crashed in Queens at Jake's parents house. We were able to see time square and the huge tree they put up every year. We also made (whats becoming tradition now) a quick stop at H&M. After that, It was back to JFK, another long wait on the plane to take off, we finally made it back to SLC around midnight. The trip was great, but I'm exhausted :)
PS. Thank You Alexis, Ian, Howard and Gwen for letting us stay!

Wedding Plans!

So, I'm being a little nuts about the wedding plans. Only in the sense that I'm just about done and have been engaged for about 12 days now. :) I'm very happy that I'll be able to relax the next couple months though. For friends and family who haven't already heard or received a phone call from us. The wedding is February 12th. I'll keep everyone posted as things progress. :D

I'm getting married!!!

Jake and I have been dating for almost a year and a half. Last night he took me out for sushi. After a short walk around the Riverwoods in Provo, we stopped on a bridge to decide what we were going to do for the rest of the night. Previous to this we had talked about marriage and I had been waiting for Jake to ask my Dad. I wasn't expecting him to do this for at least another month. Little did I know he had already asked my Dad the Tuesday before. After standing on the little bridge for a while talking about ideas for the evening, I gave him a hug and told him I loved him. "Enough to marry me?" he asked. He then pulled out a diamond necklace and asked me to marry him. After alot of jumping around, smiling, squealing and one "are you serious?!" I finally said "YES!!!"
We got back in the car and headed up to my parents. On the way I called my brother and sister-in-law in Philadelphia to tell them the news. When we got to my parents house I found out that My mom, Dad, and Ryan already knew! Jake wanted to make sure that I got exactly the ring I wanted, thats why the diamond necklace. So Jake and I went ring shopping today and picked out the wedding bands for the engagement ring. There are still some details that need to be worked out on the engagement ring. We haven't set a date yet but are thinking sometime in the Spring. I don't think I've ever been so happy in my life. He's an amazing man and I couldn't ask for a better person to spend the rest of my life with! :)
