C25K Week 1 Day 2

Well, I made time to do it yesterday. I have to say, it was the slightest bit easier yesterday. Not much, but hey, its not day 1 anymore! I still need to go get my Christmas present from the 26.2 store! But I'm finding it hard to find time to do much of anything but sleep and work!

C25K Week 1 Day 1

Well, I started the Couch to 5k program yesterday. Supposedly at the end of 9 weeks you'll be able to run a 5k.  First week  its walk 5 minutes, run 60 seconds, walk 90 seconds, run 60. You repeat that run/walk process for 20 minutes. then its a 5 minute cool down. Each week the running gets a little longer. I've never been one to run but I actually did it.  Granted, I my face was completely red and I felt like a fat kid chasing a twinkie! But, I did it, the whole thing, without cheating! haha Gotta start somewhere right?  Thats the part I have to get past. (there have been many previous attempts) But I like this program, I don't have to just RUN for 20 minutes straight, that sounds so horrible.
Well, I guess we'll see how this goes!

Do me a favor?

Maybe I'm being a little dramatic,
or sensitive about this but,
after the experiences I had at work yesterday,

I'd like to ask anyone reading my blog a favor.
Remind your loved ones of just that. 
Remind them how much you love them.
Tell them whenever you see them
Whenever you go to leave them.
You honestly never know when you could lose them! 
Forgive those that you hold grudges against.

and realize that nothing is as important as the life of a loved one.

... and everyone is someones loved one...

So to my family; when I forget to say it or show it, know that I love you.

Places I'm set on going someday.

1. Auschwitz - I know, depressing right? I've always been very interested by the events that took place in that part of the world. I've done multiple research papers through out my education on the topic of the Holocaust. I've seen all the pictures others have taken and read first hand accounts of the terrible things that happened. but for some reason, I want to go experience it. I want to take my own pictures of it.
2. Greece - In high school I had the option of taking a Mythology class instead of the English course that was usually required. I jumped at that opportunity.  Little did I know, Mythology is practically one of the most interesting (and entertaining) topics ever. Of course it helped that I had the most amazing teacher ever to instruct on this topic. Class was more like one of those books that you can't put down. Anyone who knows me and had her class will tell you, she is an amazing person. So, long story short, she instilled a deep interest in greek mythology in me that I can't get rid of. I want to go see where some of this "took place" and where some actually did take place.
3. Machu Picchu - umm.. have you seen  pictures of this place?! Incredible. Thats really all I have to say about it. :)
4. Egypt - the Giza Pyramids, Great Sphinx. I guess stuff like this just amazes me. The world creates bigger better things all the time, but they didn't have the technology back then.  I want to see this first hand.

This list could honestly go on for a long time. But that's enough for now.

I never do this

I've always had issues finding someone that could do my hair well, wasn't impossible to get into, and didn't change their prices each time you visited them.  Well, I've now found my new hair place. Shep Studio is the place to go! Not the usual Utah type Salon.  I always found the ones where the, fresh-out-of-school  stylists work, werent especially clean, kind of out dated. Shep salon is something I would expect to see in LA or New York. Very modern, minimalist, professional and upscale. Right down to their business cards.  I've tried quite a few different places and this is honestly the best. The stylist actually came in just to fix a hair cut that I was in tears over. I couldn't believe it. I had told the other salon that I wanted "an A line, kinda stacked in the back, long in the front" What I came out with was something similar to a longer Ellen DeGeneres hair cut. Shep Studio was able to fix it. I was so impressed because they didn't have much hair to work with.
I won't go anywhere else.
