I realize that I probably have no idea what I'm talking about, AND that I'm not a mother. You also have to consider that I want to be a nurse. Talk about he human body (usually) doesn't bother me. But lately I've noticed quite a few people I know, and some love, have had babies. I myself am not ready for that phase in my life. But, I feel like when/if I am, there are certain details about this whole experience that should be kept private. For example, I don't think it needs to be posted online ( Facebook, blogs, Twitter, etc) in explicit details how every second of your delivery was. I don't think the world needs to know about (forgive me for being so blunt) your cervix and how far you've dilated. Or how while breast feeding your nipples get sore and cracked. I could go on and on about the things people have posted. I understand if this is something you have a conversation about with close family. But I find it very awkward and off-putting that people feel the need to divulge details like this to the online world. Personally I find it rather gross. would you discuss the same details about a colonoscopy, or a pap smear? Like I said, I want to be a nurse, and in doing so conversations about the details of your body will and have to take place.... in the privacy of a doctors office, hospital room, etc. Hopefully I haven't offended anyone, but this has been bothering me.
